So while you don't have any visible/noticeable side effects, I would definitely recommend that you consume these in very high moderation.
sure buddy.Thanks for the advice.

Once while driving back from pune to Mumbai I was feeling really drowsy.
This was after a long day of work.
I drove till Lonavla and got really desperate to drink a red bull.
Took a detour and stopped at Lona LA market. After much searching finally found one guy who stocked it.
Gulped it down quickly. Started driving was back to normal for say half n hour or so and then again started feeling drowsy.
Guess it helped just for a bit.
I think the effectiveness depends from person to person.

How long does the 'energetic state' lasts after consuming 250 ml of red bull(before the 'crash' effect comes)?

No fixed duration. It varies from person to person. From the post above yours you can see that for raycers_honda it only lasted about half an hour.

I drank a can just before making my previous post in this thread(after a sleepless night). I felt even more dizzy and went to sleep in no time.

When you're drowsy :

1. Have a can of chilled Red Bull
2. Nap for 10 minutes in your car after your drink.

I have done this a number of times with great success before my very late night or very early morning (3:30 am starts) long drives and managed to stay awake with full concentration for upto 8 hours at a time. Strangely this is the only thing that works like a charm for me. If I only nap for 10 minutes on the side of the road, I feel sleepy again in a couple of hours. If I only take a Red Bull and continue, I get the "caffeine crash" in 3-4 hours that others are talking about. But in combination, it works superbly. Do try it out.

Re: Does Red Bull / Any Energy Drink reduce driving fatigue?

My wife is a general physician and trained critical care specialist and handles one of the ICUs of Bombay Hospital. She has banned my friends and me from ever touching Red Bull or other energy drinks. She has seen numerous cases of severe intracranial haemorrhage (bleeding in the brain) due to use of Red Bull. Such cases increase just prior to exam periods and is seen many times in young students. There are many studies on it as well.

For guys who use it regularly, if you get headaches or bulging type of pressure in the eye after drinking, it's a sign that you need to stop ASAP.

I'm not looking a starting a debate on pros and cons of Red Bull, I just wanted to warn people here.

Came across this interesting Product, that claims to do what Red bull does sans the harmful effects.

Please let us know your thoughts on this:

Re: Does Red Bull / Any Energy Drink reduce driving fatigue?

hi , redbull only gives the temporary relief , effect is more of psychological , infact it induces drowsiness once the effect starts to ween out.
as has been said in this forum , its always better to take rest prior hitting the road..
happy motoring

Re: Does Red Bull / Any Energy Drink reduce driving fatigue?

Anybody tried 5 hour energy? Started by an indian guy and is one of the best selling energy drinks in the shot format in the US. Its supposed to be all natural and all but i havent got on the red bull circuit as i dont know what it has so i have not tried this yet.

In case of driving long distance i stick to coffee and if i feel drowsy i either change drivers or get a room. Not worth risking it.

While driving, if you do not sleep when you badly feel the urge to sleep, there are chances, you will not get another chance to sleep peacefully at home.

Power nap is the best solution IMHO. Rest all like redbull, cigarettes etc. do more harm than good, avoid !
Cheers
