Re: Understanding Global NCAP's new crash tests for India in 2022

So that would mean that most of the 4/5 star cars which do not have ESC would go down in the ratings? Altroz would lose its 5 star status.

Older results are still valid for four years from the date of publication but must be communicated correctly with a datestamp and the correct star colours following visual identity guidelines that will soon be enforced.

If reassessed against the new protocols the Altroz as presently sold cannot achieve more than two stars for adult protection because of lack of electronic stability control even as an option.

Only the MGs, new Volkswagens/Skodas, Honda New City and Toyota Hyryder seem prepared for the new protocols for both adult and child protection equipment-wise.

Re: Global NCAP rolls out updated crash test protocols

Thanks ron178 for penning down on the updated protocol for vehicle bound for Indian market. This article gives lot of insight to our community for sure.

I am happy to see that Global NCAP has raised the bar for crash worthiness. In a way, it is setting a level playing field for manufactures from different background. At the end as customer, we will benefit with better vehicle. Of course we need to spend additional bucks!

I am sure our government is looking into the safety measurements with greater interest and make improvements in Indian regulations at the earliest time.
