So true. Especially with the Vizhinjam port commissioning, there should have been the farsightedness to build a grade separator at Balaramapuram junction.

On the other hand though, looking at the pace at which TVM-Kaliyikkavila widening is happening, we may get another decade or two to decide on that :ZZZ: before the actual widening happens.

My grandfather built his flour mill away from the road (against other people's advice), since there were reports that the road would be widened soon. This was in the 1970s.

Looking at the Karamana- Balaramapuram widening, we guessed that it would take five years for a particular stretch would be widened. Work would start just in time for the stretch to be inaugarated before the State election. But since the present government came, the widening hasn't moved an inch. Whole project is on hold for a 2.5km stretch. :Frustrati

Anyways, going offtopic, as the stretch is in a grey area with neither NHAI or PWD taking care of it, since the parallel greenfield stretch of NH66 opened.

Kazhakkoottam-Kadampattukonam: Financial struggles slow down NH 66 work
