Re: SICTT - South India Coastal Triangle Trip, 2150+ kms, 5 to 7 days!!

How about visiting Muthupet Lagoon on the way/small detour ? I remember my uncle saying it was a fantastic place, years back when visited.

ECR goes via Muthupet. You must also visit Kodikarai via Vedaranyam which is rich in bird life and also has a small beach.

hi,
One word of Caution. Roads between Mangalore and Kozhikode is really bad. The news reports had suggested that they would be done up by Nov 30th. However hardly anything has improved. hence Mangalore kozhikode itself might take about 6 hours.

Just incase you decide to stay over in Calicut, You could consider a home stay by name Eagle crest, near to Elathur telephone exchange. This place is by the sea, and about 10 kms before you enter Kozhikode city limits.

From Kozhikode I would suggest you to drive up to Kuttipuram on NH17 ( guess it is NH 66 now) and then turn right towards ponnani.

On your question to suggest a GPS, I would strongly recommend a Garmin Nuvi Unit with MMI maps.
