Re: Delhi-Yamuna Nagar-Delhi

Can't say anything about road conditions but there are a couple of routes:

Delhi - Panipat - Karnal - Yamunanagar (Road used to be bad at the last stretch) - This is the route taken by most buses. Turn off from NH1 is after liberty chowk.

Delhi - Pipli (Kurukshetra) - YamunaNagar (Right turn at Pipli) - The road from Pipli to Yamunanager used to be generally decent. This might be a little longer though.

For staying, check out the Grey Pelican which is a Haryana Tourism hotel in the old part of the city. Am sure there will be private ones too but somehow I prefer Haryana Tourism.

How does this route stand against the Meerut/Muzafarnagar/Saharanpur option?
How do the roads on the two routes compare?

Because if one were to start from Ghaziabad, getting on to Meerut highway would very easy.

@ampere I guess if you are in ghaziabad, that route will be faster. I know one thing for sure though - The meerut road is no NH-1! I will take the NH-1 just to stop at the eateries

I get my answer !
My only thought was if one is very close to Ashram/Nizamuddhin or any where close to Ghaziabad access, would it make sense to take Meerut road.

And if the roads on Meeut highway are good, would it make sense to use it to beat the traffic on NH1 (I assumed Meerut road sees lesser traffic. Not sure)
