From Haripad to Murudeshwar via Mookambika, Dharmasthala

We plan to travel from Haripad (Alappuzha Dist; Kerala) to below mentioned places. There can be no change on plan for 4th & 5th May 2012, as some family functions @ kannur, rest of itinerary is flexible upto two more days. Please suggest good places to stay at mangalore, murudeshwar & dharmasthala. Also suggest, if any good beaches or scenic spots on the way. Is Jog waterfalls advisable this time of the year, if so how much deviation? We had visited Gokarn during 1999. We felt the place untidy during that time. But recently I went thru a fellow bhpian travelogue where he says the place has good resorts and beaches. Should I consider beaches at murudeshwar or gokarn, or both.

My Itinerary as of now:

Date Start Time From To Distance Travel Time
04/05/2012 05:00 Haripad Kannur 400kms 10hrs
05/05/2012 15:00 Kannur Mangalore 136kms 3hrs
06/05/2012 05:00 Mangalore Mookambika 136kms 2hrs
06/05/2012 07:00 Mookambika Murudeshwara 60kms 2hrs
07/05/2012 08:00 Murudeshwara Dharmasthala 215kms 6hrs
08/05/2012 06:00 Dharmasthala Kannur 230kms 6hrs
09/05/2012 06:00 Cannore Haripad 405 10hrs

Re: From Haripad to Murudeshwar via Mookambika, Dharmasthala

Hi,
You can cover Dharmasthala or Murudeshwara from Mangalore. In one day you can cover Subramanya and Dharmasthala temple if the crowd is less (season will start soon). Good hotels like Hotel Deepa, Hotel Srinivasa, Hotel Shaan Plaza Hotel Ocean Peral are available in Mangalore. If you start early from Mangalore you can cover Hornadu Annapoorna temple, Kuduremukha and Sringeri temple also. No point in visiting jog falls in this summer season. Horribly hot over there.
Take care
