Hi,

We are planning to travel from Bangalore to Basara this month end, i looked up in google maps and according to the maps we should go through Hyderabad city.
Are there any alternate routes like ring roads to avoid going into the city.
Please suggest.

Also please suggest good accommodation at Basara.

Bangalore-HYD-Kamareddy-Nizamabad-Basara

The outer ring road connecting the two parts of NH7 is not yet complete,so you would need to follow this map to get onto NH7 Nagpur side.Should take you around 10-12hrs from Blore.

From Shamshabad(HYD Airport)take the JN ORR all the way to Gachibowli and from thereon follow the route below

NH7 is in excellent condition as usual till Dichipally..Beyond that also roads are average to good.Should take you around 2.5-3hrs from Hyd.Remember to take the ORR while coming from Blr.Get onto the ORR and exit the ORR at Medchal/Nagpur exit to enter the NH7 towards Dichipally.

-> Myself had visited this place in May'13. Route from hyderabad to basara is Hyd-Kamareddy-Nizamabad-Basara.
Road is simply too awesome from Hyd till Nizamabad Bypass. Nizamabad bypass to Nizamabad small deviation of 2 lane road with Good condition.

Road condition from Nizamabad to Basara - 2 lane road with Good condition.

Accommodation at Basar is bad and i could not get it. because of stupid APTDC website.

So booked Harita Indur INN at nizamabad, which is good. But lacks good restaurant. But there are couple of good restaurants at Nizamabad.
So stay at nizamabad is advised rather than basar.

What the problem with the APTDC website ? They do have Basar listed on their website and booking should be possible.

Yeah it is listed, whenever i tried to book, it threw me error. calling aptdc helpline is no-use.

got fedup of not able to book @ basara, i tried nizamabad, which worked.

Visited Basara over the weekend. Started from Bannerghatta Road at around 4-30am on Friday. Crossed airport at 5-30am and finally reached Basara at 4pm with about 1.5 hrs of break in between. Roads till Dichpally are excellent and thereafter 2 lane but OK.

Had booked APTDC basara online a couple of days earlier. I had provided a check-in time of 7PM and the hotel folks told me that they could not give me the room before 7pm. Finally got the room at 6pm. So anyone booking APTDC , make sure that you don't reach too much in advance. Rooms are spacious and VFM. Hotel staff is also courteous. There are also several lodges close to the temple, so staying is not a problem, unless one is visiting during the peak Saraswati Puja time.

Visited the temple on Saturday morning and started for Blr at 10AM. Finally reached home at 11-45 PM with around 2.5 hrs of breaks in between.
