You should do:

Jhansi-Shivpuri-Baran-Jhalawar-Ujjain-Indore-Pune-Mangalore. Just recently a member updated about the same.

Driving down from Lucknow till Mangalore

Good Morning

Please guide on route from Lucknow till down south (Mangalore)
Is the AH47 (from Jhansi to Hubli) good for driving with family??
I will have my aged parents along.

From Hubli I plan to go to Yellapur - Ankola and then drive along the Konkan coast.
I plan to drive in third week of Dec

Instead of Hubli, take the Bangalore option.
Lukhnow-Jhansi-Sagar-Narsingpur-Chindwada-Nagpur-Hyd-Bangalore-Hassan-Mangalore. You get easier roads and stay options.

Or you do:

Lukhnow-Jhansi-Shivpuri-Kota-Chittorh-Ratlam-Indore-Dhule-Pune-Hubli-Yellapur-Mangalore

I read in another thread that Jhansi - Sagar - Hyderabad route has lot of bad sections and facilities are bad.

I drove the Chittorgarh - Ratlam - No need to go to Indore - Lebad - Manpur - Dhule - Nashik - Mumbai - Pune - Bangalore route. 4 - 6 lane roads all the way. Less traffic. Scenic too.

There are ways to overcome these bad sections. Like Narsingpur-Chindwada-Nagpur. Similar for cases around Jhansi-Sagar.

That was implied on my part. Sorry I should I have mentioned it explicitly.

re: Lucknow to Mangalore : Route Queries

Thanks for the replies. But is the AH47 section really bad and not worth? Actually taking Chittor-Ratlam route adds quite a lot of extra kms. Also I couldn't locate the Lebad-Manpur route mentioned by pramodpk

Basically, you take the Ratlam route from Chittorgarh. After Ratlam, you can see sign boards to Dhule & Indore. At Lebad, you exit the Indore route and take the Lebad - Manpur 4 lane road to join NH 3. There are lot of sign boards. After Ratlam, look for Dhule & Mumbai.

re: Lucknow to Mangalore : Route Queries

Hi pramodpk

Sorry, but I am back to my question of Jhansi-Guna-Dewas-Indore route. Actually Chittorgarh route is very long.
Is the AH47 route just not worth, I dont mind even if its two lane.

Mod Note: Please Avoid typing.... like this.....

Re: Lucknow to Mangalore : Route Queries

I think there is still no information/update regarding the Jhansi-Guna-Dewas-Indore route. Or, is there?
Else, has anyone done the Jhansi-Jhalawar-Ujjain-Indore? Any update will help.
Vip.

I saw a couple of moto vlogs on youtube where people have done this stretch on a bike. Doesnt seem too bad - not comparable to GQ roads.
