Weekend Getaway from Delhi....pls help

Guys..!!! I'm planning a trip for the coming weekend anywhere around delhi....

I'm having Uttaranchal in mind Haridwar n around it to be precise but dont have any idea of the roads there.....

My main requirements of the trip:

1. Start off Sat morning n back home Sun night...
2. Good roads with scenic view
3. Should not be more than 7hrs drive.(one way)...

Pls pour in with your ideas too.....

KP - You can also try Ramnagar in UT. It's about 250kms from delhi & is about a 5-hour drive also Nainital is about a 90 minute drive from there & you can visit that too if you like.

The resort I recommend is called Corbett Hideaway (Ramnagar is on the outskirts of Jim Corbett National Park) and is very good. I did a small photo feature on it here:

The road form Delhi to Hapur is good, Hapur to Moradabad is mixed with both bad & good patches. Moradabad to Ramnagar is absolutely fabulous, just came back from there yesterday!!

P.S. Also I would recommend you do a leave on Friday evening and return on sunday evening trip as this will help you relax more and also allow you to spend quality time at the resort.

Is there a river also in Ramnagar....???

Sneaking out on Friday evening is not possible so will have limit my adventures a bit....

Yup the river Kosi. The resort is acutally on the river side which you can see in the pictures.

Hi All !!

I am planning a weekend trip (tomorrow and day after) to Haridwar.
Its gonna be our first trip in my Aveo.

Any inputs / suggestions regarding the route / road conditions / safety measures ... pls let me know.

My dad is been on this route before and he would be with us but i am new to this route and want to take them on my own.

I have taken a printout of the road map from net.

Hope to have a good time.
