Does any one know the best route to take from Davangere to Hampi?

How is the road condition in this area.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Hi drc, the stretch between Davangere and chitradurga is not complete, you will have to drive slowly on lose gravel, at chitradurga ask directions for Hospet and I guess after about 5 kms you will have to turn right to hospet and the road is good but watchout for unmarked speed breakers, drive slow in village limits, the road is pretty smooth and not much of problem ecept at the junction you turn into hospet, the road curves and it has been washed out so watchout for trucks on the wrong side

Thanks Prashant,

I was counting 4:30 hours for Bangalore - Davangere. Should that be accurate?

From Davanagere to Chitradurga, it is NH4. From there, you can take NH13 to Hospet. Travelled on those roads long time back, so, no idea about the status as of now.

More than adequate. Last week I did that distance in exactly 4:20 hrs that too considering I didn't push my new Zen beyond 100-105 kph.

And also the Zen is no match to your Petra

DRC, is there any specific reason to do BLR - Davangere - Hospet?

If you are doing Bangalore - Hospet, then suggest:
BLR - Chitradurga : 200km, 3.5 hrs
Chitradurga - Hospet: keep to the by-pass in Chitradurga, the right to Hospet turn is sufficiently marked for Bijapur / Solapur / Hospet.

If you have to go to Davangere, then ask for the turns in Davangere - there is a direct route to Hospet from Davangere, distance about 110km. I dont see any reason to come back to Chitradurga to get on to NH-13 to go to Hospet.

BLR - Davangere is about 250 km. So 4.5 hours is good

Going to attend a weedding in Davangere. Also planing to stretch to Hampi having driven so far.

I do understand the route. I have travelled on this roads long back (read 7years). not aware of the road condition now.

I also spoke to few of other guys. So here is the info. Bangalore - Hospet road is good except for last 30 min drive. Hampi is natorious for water born infections. need to carry water anf food.

Chtradurga - Davangere road is under construction still. Lotta diversions and driving on the gravel.

Thanks for the info shared. As always T-BHP is very dependable.
