Forget the existing roads, HVK knows the non-existent ones too
Way to go !!

Thanks for the information folks. I am inclined to take the regular route, and enjoy the drive from the suggestions I got for you.

Now that I am pretty much decided on the route from Bangalore to Yercaud, let me plan the next leg of my trip . We plan to extend our trip to Hogenekkal from Yercaud.

I was going through some of the posts in Tem BHP for vrious routes, but am lost with too much of information.

I am looking for information on various routes available from Yercud to Hogenekkal. Please provide your inputs folks.

The Route is Yercaud->Salem->Dharmapuri->Hogenekkal. You need to enter Dharmapuri town and take a left turn from there. The route is pretty straigt forward. Should be 30-40 KM from Dharmapuri

Thanks Pramod. What is the distance going by Yercaud->Salem->Dharmapuri->Hogenekkal route. The route should be good as it would be NH7 till Dharmapuri.

Any alternate/shorter/better routes?

Just did the Bangalore - Yercaud trip this weekend. Great roads all throughout except the stretch that joins the Banerghatta Road to Nice road. Will take between 4-5hrs depending on number of stops.

Re: Route Info Required for bangalore-yercad trip

Hi guys,

Planning for a tour to Yercaud next weekend for 2 days(hotel stay starts from 12 noon). Have booked a room for us couple. Please suggest good restaurants (pure veg only) in Yercaud as hotel restaurant is a way bit costly. And also would like to know attractions which are good to visit now in this time of the year.

Thanks very much.

Try "Malar" restaurant which is in the Sheravoys Complex near the lake (just outside) not the inside speciality ones. Apart from the lake there are only several view points eg. Pagoda view pt. avoid kiliyur falls.

If your check in is at 12 noon, 5am start may be too early. Take 4 hours max driving time incl. a breakfast break. 7am should be fine enough.

Thanks ampere. All these restaurants comes on the left side of the highway? I do know for sure A2B comes on the left side.

nssrini, i usually drive at 80 may be upto 90km/h max. Even though 5 am start would be late?
Also, are there any other place we can visit on the way to delay going to Yercaud?

Maybe 6am should be fine. The queues at attibelle & krishnagiri toll plaza should eat up some time. Do not bother about anything to visit in between. There's nothing. 2 breaks - say - one at kamat and subsequent at Salem - should get you in time at your pace. 10kms inside Salem will straightway lead to the ghat road & you'll arrive in Yercaud 30mins thereafter.
