Jabalpur to Goa : Route Queries

Hi Friends,
We are planning a long family trip to Goa & planning to drive their. Because we have 2 kids, we are planning for a break journey.

From what looks like, we will be doing the
Jabalpur to Amravati => via Nagpur
Amravati to Pune => via Aurangabad
Pune to Goa => via Satara & Kolhapur.

Do you think this is a good and safe option to travel with family & kids? Any recommendations/ alternate options/ routes?
