Shirdi to Varanasi

I am planning a road trip to Varanasi from Shirdi in August. Which is the best route?

By August hopefully Shirdi-Nagpur stretch of Samruddhi Mahamarg will be operational so you can take following route:

Shirdi - Nagpur - Jabalpur - Rewa - Hanumana - Mirzapur - Varanasi

I travelled in Jan on this route and its 4 lane throughout and road conditions were very good.

Very unlikely. Even Nagpur-Shelu Bazaar inauguration is postponed to mid-June. Am pessimistic the Nagpur-Shirdi will be open even by summer next year

So you would take Shirdi-Vaijapur-Gangapur-Aurangabad bypass-Jalna-Mekhar-Shelu Bazar-Mahamarg-Nagpur assuming there are no further delays.

Alternatively Malegaon-Dhule-Indore-Bhopal-Vidisha-Sagar-Katni-Mirzapur-Varanasi

Re: Shirdi to Varanasi

The Shirdi-Malegaon-Indore-Bhopal-Vidisha-Katni-Mirzapur-Varanasi route is not recommended since Indore-Bhopal section is although in very good condition always keeps busy with traffic. From Bhopal upto Vidisha can be very tiring due to not so good road and traffic. From Sagar upto Katni the road is ok but it is a 2 lane highway with almost no facilities around.
