Bhubaneswar - Chandan Nagar route query

Hello BHPians,

I am planning to go to Chandannagar for the famous Jagaddhatri Puja. I need help with route and accommodation.

Route

I'll be driving from Bhubaneswar. GoogleMaps is showing me a route through NH16 and NH13, but I also see a route through NH 6. My query is, which one has better road conditions:

Option 1: Bhubaneswar - Uluberia (NH16) - Alampur (NH16) - Belur (NH6) - Bhadreswar (NH6) - Chandannagar
Option 2: Bhubaneswar - Uluberia (NH16) - Alampur (NH16) - Dankuni (NH13, Delhi Road) - Chandannagar

Accommodation

Safety of car, aged parent, and self is the primary concern. Are there any good options at Chandannagar? Or, should I consider nearby places such as Bandel or Chinsurah? Google shows me something called Vedam Eco Tourist village. How good (or bad) is it, and are there any other options for stay?

Also, any tips and suggestions would be great help

I've never been to this part of the country (have only read stories about these places).
