Does anyone have the latest update on road conditions to Srisailam?
Option1 : ORR/Airport - ORR Exit 14 - Kawalkurthy (NH765) - Munnanur (via SH5)
Option 2 : ORR/Airport - Jadcherla (via old NH7) - Kawalkurthy (via SH18) - Munnanur (via SH5)
Option3 : ORR/Airport - Jadcherla (via old NH7) - Bhutpur (via old NH7) - Munnanur (via SH20)

Don't have the latest update, a group of folks from my office were planning a weekend drive to Srisailam about a couple of weeks back, will check if they made it.
But considering the pace and extent, I don't think those repairs are getting over soon.
From your list, option 3 looks best to me in such a case (you totally avoid stretch around Kawalakruthy - both before and after).
I think the third option is the best. I think Highway_Lover traveled on that route a couple of months ago.

In the option 3 route do not go to Bhutpur and then turn towards Nagarkurnool.
This road from Bhutpur for half the distance is dual carriage way and then becomes is single road till you reach Binjapalli with occasional potholes on the shoulders of the road.
Better option is Jadcherla-Binjapalli-Nagarkurnool-Munnanur this is a dual carriage way throughout.
How's Srisailam at this time? Rainfall has been scanty, so I'm not sure if there's water in the falls and the dam. Anyone who's been there that can give more details?

Hi,
I am planning to go to Srisailam from Manikonda Hyderabad. Will this route have any good places to eat? any information in this regard will be helpful.
Also, how long will the total journey be? Google maps gives about 4.5 hrs. Is that fine?
Regards,
Sri Harsha.

The third option mentioned is better as road works are going on in the first route mentioned previously.
After crossing Shamshabad no good eating places till Srisailam except for
dhabas.
5hrs should be a comfortable drive.
Packed food would be ideal.
Hope this helps

Harsha, on this route towards Jadcherla there is a good drive in restaurant at about 60kms from Manikonda
(see

This is pretty good and recently we went for a drive meet till this place.
There is another similar one that has come up near Jadcherla (or possibly just after it), not quite sure of exact location though.

The other restaurant is after Jadcherla and it is named 97 as it is that distance away
from Hyderabad.
It comes on the right side after Jadcherla while driving from Hyderabad

Im planning to start at 5.30 am and 60 kms might be too early. I'll try this 97. Thanks a lot. Will update on Monday about my top.

No, I think this will be way off my trip to Sri Sailam. I'd rather try something around Jadcharla to finish the breakfast. Nevertheless, I'd keep in mind when going towards Kurnool or Bangalore.
I also want to know if anyone has stayed in other places than APTDC Punnami hotel? Even there, are the rooms neat?

Oh .. I used Punnami only once when I went first time long back, its way too costly.
Check out Srisailam Temple Authority's accommodations - goes by names like Gouri Sadan, Ganga Sadan, etc.
These are very clean/reliable facilities and best options would also be less than 1000/- (or roundabout).

Great. I was only worried if the temple authority accommodations would be clean or not. I will check that. Do you reckon that I book them online or can I find 2 rooms once I reach there?

It may be safer if you book online, I never tried that.
Couple of times we got the room fine, and lately its mostly one day trip we target by starting early.
If you are reaching earlier in the day, say 10 or so, it should be fine unless its an auspicious day or two.
You may just call them and get idea about how things are.
Question for those who have visited in the last few days:
1), is it raining at Srisailam ?
2) How is the crowd on the weekend ?
