I am planning to go to Srisailam this weekend from Hyderabad. Could you please let me know if the following route is the best route?

NH7 - Jadcherla - Bijnavaram - Nagarkurnool - Munnanur - Srisailam ghat section

Or, is the regular route via Srisailam highway (Maisigandi, Kalwakurthy, Umamaheswaram) better now?

Regular route is a year away to completion. Go via Jadcherla & Bijnavaram.

Also, what is the best hotel to stay in Srisailam for a family of four ...

APTDC's Haritha would be most comfortable one with their in-house restaurant and all!

Hi folks, planning for a quick trip to Srisailam post Diwali, and assuming that 'Jadcherla-Binjapalli-Nagarkurnool-Munnanur' route remains the best option.
Let me know of any recent trips/update.

I had a horrible time at Harita. The place is infested with bed bugs ,I could not sleep even for 1 minute and the restaurant is pathetic.

Haritha is not the usual resort type of stay, though that's the closest that you get in Srisailam.
I personally prefer one of the temple accommodations (viz. Gouri Sadan), serve the purpose without much frills and easy on pocket as well.
Food-wise .. there were really no restaurants, a new one called Trishul has come up lately (as pointed in last few posts), hope that has some viable options.

Hello All,
Any idea about latest road conditions between Hyderabad and Srisailam? Has anyone traveled on this rout off late?

Hi folks ... any recent input on regular Hyd-Srisailam highway state?
Or, is it still the route through Jadcherla that's preferred?

My colleague took the Jadcherla route a couple of weeks back as he wanted to enjoy the greenery. This route is in excellent shape, baring a stretch of 10-15 kms where it's a single road which you share with the oncoming traffic. Also, there are a lot of speed breakers in the jungle stretch to ensure slow movement. He said the taxi drivers prefer the other route as it is 40 km shorter. Might as well ask a driver or two about the other route info.

I am planning a trip on Aug 14/15 and would be able to give first hand information post that.

regards,
Ashis

Hello Folks,

Hope the below information is useful in regards to the above queries.

Saturday 16 July 2016.

Destination : Mallelatheertham.
No of KM's driven : 403 KM (two way)
Route information : Miyapur to ORR (Shamshabad), exit after Airport towards Srisailam road and proceed towards Srisailam.
This waterfall is situated approximately 50 KM before Srisailam and we need to take a left after the Farhabad view point.
Road Condition : The roads were awesome with 3 small deviations after Dindi due to ongoing construction work related to 2 bridges. There is no proper road for the last 8KM of to the destination, it is a mud trail, so be cautious incase of heavy rains.
Toll Paid : Rs 80 (two way) at the ORR, Rs 10 for Forest entry at check post & Rs 30 for parking at the waterfall entry

Restaurants : We had lunch at Chenchulakshmi restuarant (i assume this run by the Govt). The food was decent & the place is clean. They charged Rs 70/- for plate meals. The restaurant is about 500M, on your right (Hyd .Srisailam direction) after the the forest check post.

Complete details & pictures available in page 8, post # 110 & 111 of the below thread.

Planning a trip to Srisailam this November.
Can you elaborate on the Helicopter ride? Where is the starting point and ending point?

Also, what are the stay options in/ around Srisailam?

There are a bunch of accommodation options around the temple complex - best to stay in one of those due to proximity to temple.
Also available a more standard option of APTDC Haritha resort, though it mostly doesn't get great feedback.

Helicopter ride is on the way from Munnanur - Srisailam road about 5kms close to the dam site.
You can go there and ask for the details.
