Jaipur to Dehradun Road Route

I plan to travel by road with family from Jaipur to Dehradun. Which is the best route for travel by car from Jaipur to Dehradun. Google Maps shows two routes.

Route 1. Jaipur Delhi Highway, take Western Peripheral Expwy just before Manesar, exit on to Jammu-Delhi Road(NH44) just before Badh Khalsa.
Route 2. Jaipur Dehi highway to Kotputli, exit to 148B at Paniyala and then take Ambala-Narnaul Expway, which is a new Expway, exit on to Karnal, Saharanpur and Dehradun.

Has anybody travelled on these routes, or is there another route which is better. Thanks for your help.

I did not take the road trip, I took a flight. But a couple of years back I had done a road trip taking the first route.

From Delhi to Dehradun, there are multiple routes, but the best one are as follows

1) Take Delhi - Meerut Expressway till Meerut -> Meerut Bypass -> Muzaffarnagar
2) From here you can either take
a) Muzaffarpur -> Saharanpur Road -> Chutmalpur -> Mohand route
b) Muzaffarpur -> Roorkee Bypass -> Haridwar -> Dehradun

Route (a) is shorter, but there are chances of long traffic jams between Biharigarh & Mohand.

Route (b) is faster as it is 6/4 lanes till Dehradun, but also suffers from heavy tourist pressure during weekends and holidays.

Just back. Delhi - Dehradun. To and fro. Both via Mohand as directed by Google.

Took 5 hr 15 min on both legs. The route is ok till Mohand. However, the traffic is slow from there as the road is narrow. Of course, the Doon roads continue to be pathetic—something to do with the Smart City tag.

One errata though. Google shows the onward route to be via Saharanpur. That road is not great. It's better to take a U-turn and take the Saharanpur bypass in the onward journey too.
