Trip to Hampi | Is it possible with pets?

Hey Folks. I am thinking of a trip to Hampi shortly. Could any of you indicate whether Pets are allowed inside the Heritage site where the ruins are located? I intend to take him along on this trip as he could roam around in free space. Appreciate any response over this week.

I have ShihTzu, by the way.

Hey theabstractmind, I just wanted to check if you did this trip, and what your experience was.

We were also looking at Hampi as an option, and was planning to take our Shihtzu along. Found that Hyatt in Hampi accomodates dogs, wasn't very sure about the heritage sites.

Can you please share your experience?

We visited Hampi 7/8 years with our pet dog. And we stayed at these cottages on the North bank of the river. Since he was a very obedient and understanding fellow, we kept him in the cottage while we visited the historic sites. IMO taking a pet along with you is not a great idea.

I guess the response is too late. I haven't enabled notifications on my profile.

We did have a good experience. I stayed in a typical homestay resort by name La Rocca where they allowed dogs, except in the restaurant area. I planned it in a way that I can either leave behind the dog in the car (of course for less than two hours in places with lower noise and shade, on one day, I dropped him off at a pet care. Honestly, I didn't try checking out how the pet care was, it was in some galli. But it was just for one day. I have done this now, twice. Taking him all the way up to my destination and dropping him off in a day care.

I don't think taking him to the heritage sites was an option based on discussion with locals.
