There is one more option. Instead of going via Mathikere you can go further straight and take left at New BEL road and continue on same road till it joins Outer Ring Road. This is the road in which MS Ramiah college is there as well. Avoids the narrow Mathikere road. New BEL road will be easy at night time.

I am quite familiar with New BEL Rd as I used to live in Sanjaynagar area.
I had New BEL Rd in mind to join ORR. Relieved as Mathikere Rd can be avoided.

Via New BEL road works too. I used to take this road before High Grounds to Hebbal was not signal free. Plus, have stayed in Sanjaynagar between 2004 and 2006

My only worry with New BEL road is the Sadashivnagar Police Stn Signal and Ramaiah College signal. After these, other signals are petty ones till ORR Junction.

On the other hand, new BEL road is also equally narrow as Mathikere Main road post Ramaiah Junction. But we'll managed traffic.

However, between Mathikere and New BEL Road, you are looking at saving 5 mins or almost same time anyway.

Lived there from 1988..I shifted out in 2008.

During that period, Police Stn to BEL circle stretch was less crowded and manageable-even during night. Now it has become very busy I note.
Reg Mathikere or New BEL Rd,I will leave it to driver's discretion,I think.
Mainly,will avoid City travel and take NICE route as suggested.
