Route Query: Bangalore - Iritty

Hello Friendz,

I would like to know the route map from Bangalore to Iritty (Kannur Dist). Would be travelling next week by car, so expecting to hear the current road conditions from people who has taken this route recently.

If there are alternate routes, please suggest me the best one at the moment.

At times, I wish I could transform my Baleno into a Bolero at the click of a button and of course, back to its original form!!

The shortest route to Irritty is Bangalore - Srirangapattanam - Hunsur - Gonikkoppal - Makkutta - Irritty. But the Ghat section from Gonikkoppal to Makkutta is not in good condition. But recently there are some patch work done, but don't know how much it is. Buses are going through this route only. You will find minimum 12km road in very bad shape.

I think 12kms of bad section is tolerable. Will go by this route as another friend of mine also suggested the same.
