I do not have any car. Please help be in planing.

Should I hire a taxi or go by any volvo bus etc, Raj Express etc.
Is there any trip package available.
From the previous post, I think I should attend the morning aarti at 5:30AM. What should be the start time, Friday night?
Do I need to stay somewhere, or is it touch and back?
What is the best place to stay?
What else to take care?
Any useful tip:) :-)

Hi Rajiv,

Dont know what public transport options are avilable but you can get more info on Shirdi in My thread here

What is the Best Time to Reach Shirdi ?

Due to some reason I could not go yesterday otherwise would have helped you.

Hi All,

I will be starting for Shirdi from Pune on Friday afternoon. The best option is to take the 4 lane road till Nagar. Can anyone help with the the actual turnoff to Shirdi after passing Nagar Town? Google maps is not very clear. Thanks in Advance

Route Link

Above one is the correct route.

- But at point B you would see a Shirdi sign-gauge marked for taking left.
- You can take that too It would be get you to D.

I am planning to go to Shirdi tomorrow i.e. 3rd Sept

I want to know which of the following routes should I take:
1. Nashik highway (I stay in pimpri so it's closer to my place)
2. Nagar highway

I am a little concerned since I would be traveling with my 10 month old son.

Please suggest based on:
1. Road conditions
2. Distance
3. Halt (read hotel) options

Any information would be highly appretiated

I had been to Shirdi by end of August from Bangalore. Took a flight to Pune. And from there reached IBIS hotel by Auto. Had booked a zoom car(ford figo) in advance. Started from Pune by 9.00 AM after breakfast and reached Shirdi by around 12.45 PM. Took the 4 laned Pune - Ahmed nagar - Shirdi route. Good roads for most parts. While going committed the mistake of taking Nagar by pass. Horrible roads for 15 kms till you join the highway back. And the last 20 kms before Shirdi is bad too with lots of potholes and patches. Manageable though.

In return left Shirdi by 1.30 PM and reached Pune by 5.15 pm. Came via Ahmed Nagar and better roads all the way. But the last 20 kms to Pune has very dense traffic.

Hi,
Planning to go to Pune - Shirdi - Shanishignapur - Pune , what would be the best route and option. Any cab/taxi tour service that can do that in 1 day?
Please suggest any such contacts. Also how much crowded will it be at both the places on 3rd Oct (Friday) 2014) ?

What is the best time to start at Pune.

Thanks

Anyone traveled Pune-Shirdi lately? How are the roads... would it be better to take my Endy or my Audi A3? The A3 is very new, and I already lost one of the Pirellis to bad roads on my last trip to Goa.

traveled the route a month back . I would suggest to take endy .. as part of nagar bypass and last leg of the shirdi (15 km) is not in good shape.

Quick update - I took the Audi, and it wasn't bad at all. The bypass is in great shape (the final patch of hot mixing was being done as we drove by). The last mile, yes - that's a little patchy, but manageable in any car. Shirdi has great parking facilities now, and that was a big relief too - wouldn't have wanted to leave Myra in the 42 degree dusty heat!

Shirdi has parking facilities right - but you could just park at your hotel (if you own an endy and an audi go stay at Keys Temple Tree, near the water park / that ashram dharamshala). Two or three km from the temple but good parking, great food, aircon that works + no bugs, and a free shuttle to the mandir.

Hi all looking for pointers on which route to take when driving from lonavala to Shirdi. Google shows me 2 routes with 40kms being the difference between the two but the travel time seems to be the same. So should I take the Sangamner via NH50 route or the Ahmednagar route? TIA

Mods couldn't find a thread on this route with my limited mobile connectivity. If a thread exists please merge this to the same.

I will suggest you to stay away from NH50 route. You will frustrated to to drive on a 1+1 lane road where overtaking is a big tension due to heavy slow moving traffic.

Pl take Lonavla - Talegaon - Chakan - Shikrapur - Shirur (bypass) - Ahmednagar - Shirdi. It will be better. Depending upon the time at which you travel, there could be some slow moving traffic near Chakan.

Another option: Lonavla - Hingewadi - Aundh - Khadaki - Yeravada - Shikrapur - Shirur (bypass) - Ahmednagar - Shirdi.

If you are likely to be at Chakan in the evening time 4 to 7 pm, better to go via Yeravada.

Wish you a happy journey.

Thank you so much for the advice. Took the above route and it was fantastic except for the Chakan part as you had said. Visited shani shingnapur too on the way :D

Hello All,

I am in Pune these days because of work commitments. Could anybody let me know if there is a good (and Safe) package travels from Pune to Shirdi? Below are the additional details:

1) I would prefer leaving on Saturday and coming back on Sunday.
2) Since I would be traveling alone, it would be nice if there a group.
3) I would be staying overnight there in the Shirdi, so if somebody could let me know a decent accommodation there. If not included in the package.
4) I understand that there are online slots for 'VIP' darshan but how much time does it normally takes if ones goes by 'Aam Adami Approach'?
5) Any other pointers I need to take care of?

Looking forward to your replies. Thanks!
