Tiruvannamalai - Chengam - Uttangarai - Harur - Salem

Hi,

Has anyone tried this route, what distance and how are the roads? Any input will be of great help and much appreciated.

I'm not sure how many tbhpians are there from Salem or Tvmalai who would use this road. You would have seen a lot of posts for Tvmalai - Bangalore, because that's what most of them use. What I do know is Chengam - Krishnagiri is in a bad state and we use the Bargur - Tirupattur route nowadays to go to Tvmalai.

Road less travelled !! Well, you should do a search before you ask that question. hvkumar, akroy and a host of others have probably done more than some would do in a lifetime..

However why don't you do us a favour by trying this out and updating us. Being a tbhpian I'm sure your inputs would be welcome. :-)

I was doing Krishnagiri Chengam last weekend and it was okay. The holes had been filled up and patched. You can skip Bargur-Tirupattur now.

Apologies for my offbeat queries. Instead of the captioned route, how is the following? Vaniyambadi - Nattarampalli - Tirupattur - Batrahalli - Dharmapuri.............this is shown as SH 18 and 60 on google map. Any idea on the roads and distance?

That stretch is good but slow as you will be passing through villages.
Although distance wise it is less, not sure how much time you will save.

Vaniyambadi - Krishnagiri - Dharmapuri is the fastest.

ironwalah, no point in proving right or wrong !! it is for you to travel and experience. just do it and give the first hand experience.

As for csenthil, he himself did all the combination routes from Blr - Coimbatore and gave us a nice feedback of some really rare routes / upgraded roads.
