Hotels needed in Rural Karnataka

We are planning to go for an "industrial" trip to a few places from college.

We are looking at the most basic economic accomodation. No AC/TV, etc needed. Clean beds and clean bathrooms will be more than enough.

We were looking at

1). Hubli --- South Western Railway workshop
2). Bhadravathi --- Steel plant
3). hosanagar ---- Hydel plant
4). Ambikanagar --- Dont know what is there

Some really cheap hotels which have rooms where 3-4 people can share a room. We'll be abt 20-30 people.

Lots of budget hotyels in and around KSRTC bus stand, such as Hotel Ayodhya.

For Hosanagara, closest town should be Tirtahalli or Shimoga. Busget lodges available there too.

Thank you, but that's a little late. We plan to travel this weekend too.

So basically, what you guys are saying is, stay one night at Hubli and travel to Ambikanagar. And one (or two) nights at Shimoga and visit Bhadravathi and Hosanagar that time....

For Hubli, Hotel Ayodha is the suggested place. Will try & get you the number.

Else, you could try Hotel Renuka near old bus stand & Yatri Nivas near new bus-stand.

Hotel Ajanta, Boarding,Lodging,Restaurant,Jayachamaraj Nagar Hubli-580020Hubli - 0Phone : :0836-2362216,2362217,2362218,2362422

Try this hotel in Hubli, this is the cheapest hotel for groups. It is near to the hubli Railway station and 10 min walk to the railway workshop.

They have special rates for groups as well. But you'll have to talk it out.

Have a great trip.

Durga Lodge in BH road (Bangalore - Honnavar) near the Shimoga bus stand is a very good budget hotel. If you want slightly upmarket try Hotel Sanman (it is in a lane near Nehru road)

Agree with Suvi these are the best two places apart from Jewel Rock which is a high end (i mentioned Devi Lodge by mistake). Checked in Hosanagar they dont have any good lodges they have a Govt Travellers Bungalow and you may have to go thru some Govt Employees to get it booked but i still feel Durga on BH road is a very good option.
