Hi, hello and welcome to the Forum Somnita.

Your route is fine. Roads are good too. You'll be in NH7 all the way till Karur and a bit more ahead. Then, you'll have to turn towards Bodinayakkanur. Beautiful winding roads. Cross the border and reach Munnar!

Enjoy your journey.

Do you have to travel via Karur? If yes, then turn off after Karur to reach Udumalaipettai via Dharapuram. Udumalaipettai to Munnar is via the Chinnar sanctuary and Mariayur.

Else, you can continue from Karur on NH7 until Dindigul and reach Theni via Batlagundu and Periakulam. From Theni, it is Bodinayakkanur, Pooppara, Devikulam, Munnar.

Why don't you check out the thread below?

There are multiple routes to Munnar. Going via Mysore would be shorter is my guess.

To add to what hrag said above, the shortest route is to go via Perunthurai-Gangayam-Dharapuram-Udumalai (as discusssed extensively in earlier threads).

The Udumalai routte goes via Chinnar, Maraiyoor.

The Bodi route enters Munnar via Poopara on the Thekkady-Munnar road.

The Perunthurai route is also in good condition.

If you want to stay in Karur may be you can try Hotel Residency. If you want budget hotels then you can try Perrys or Hemala

When you are going from Salem you need to take left towards Busstand at the Trichy - CBE road junction.(Fly over construction work is going on at this junction)
