Guys,

I am planning to drive from Bangalore to Kuttikanam for the Team BHP Monsoon D R I V E meet. I am planning to start on the 14th early morning.

Please suggest the best route to take.

I am thinking about these alternatives:

Route 1: B'lore - Hosur - Krishnagiri - Salem - Dindigul - Kumily - Kuttikanam

Route 2: B'Lore - Mysore - Nanjangud - Chamrajnagar - Sathyamangalam - Annur - Avanashi - Udumalaipet - Munnar - Kumily - Kuttikanam

Route 3: B'Lore - Malavalli - Kollegal - Chamrajnagar - Sathyamangalam - Annur - Avanashi - Udumalaipet - Munnar - Kumily - Kuttikanam

Route 1 is shortest and best, despite the road widening work in some places

I would vote for the route1. It is far better than other options unless you want to be a lot more adventurous!

Route 1 will take you 8-9 hours and is a brilliant drive - highway all along and very scenic to boot! (esp post Dindigul)

Both the other routes will take you 14-15 hours MINIMUM - and thru some interior roads. the last 6-7 hours or so will be entirely ghats - can get extremely tiring. (rather patchy in places - no help for miles)

I 'strongly' recommend the first option.

EDIT : Just thought I'll add - I have done all three routes - hence talking from experience!!
