Pune to Silvassa route

Hi
I am planning to drive from Pune to Silvassa. I am planning to go via the expressway, Airoili, Thane, Ghorbunder road and then the NH 8.
Can some one tell me if this route is good or then should I take the risk of going into Mumbai. I know the Airoli route is not the best, but does anyone have an idea about Ghorbunder road.
Also I am planning to start early morning and would like to know any good eating places between Ghorbunder and Silvassa.

You can exit the expressway at the Thane exit and take the road via Kalamboli, Taloja, Shil Phata, Mumbra to NH3 and from there to Ghodbunder road. This is now a 4-lane toll road and in good condition but for some nasty road humps. Is 33 kms from Panvel to Thane Ghodbunder road, saves you at least 15-30 minutes depending on the time of the day.

Lots of eating places till Vasai, and also occasionally after that.

You can turn off NH8 at Bhilad (immediately after crossing into Gujarat) instead of going till Vapi.

no risk in coming to mumbai as no bomb blasts as of now stop over at manor at VITTHAL KAMATH'S ;a good hygienic place for grub then if required at CHAROTI NAKA ;but personaly i won't recommend this and then head stright to silvasa
PS: road from bhilad to silvasa/ vapi to silvasa is really bad. expect big pot-holes,bad traffiq sence, dogs, cows' people etc. try and reach silvasa as early as possiblere before the rush hours.

TREAT resort is the place you should stay at!
