ParaSailing, ParaGliding, Mountain Climbing or River rafting etc., in HP?

We are in mood for some adverture sports.
The first priority is
ParaSailing or Paragliding followed by mountain climbing(not trekking)
We are beginners, and want to try out with a well known place.
Plan is to go mid august.
So are Bir-Billing open at that time?
Since Palampur valley is otherwise a boring place, do such adventure sports happen at other places in Himachal.
A motorable high mountain pass nearby will be a good idea
Please don't say solang valley, because 30 seconds of that silly thing is not Paragliding.

Hope until now you might have done it... If you are an adventure person, it is better you take proper training to fly a paraglider and than buy one.. It can be all fun...

Recent news events about the sorry state of affairs(which actually lead to people getting killed) turned us off. We will do adventure sports, but only when regulation and quality comes into the sport. Till then... no way in India! That said, we did not river rafting, the the guys were very good. We took an easy circuit, so that even if we get dunked in the river, it will just mean a wet experience!

Paragliding in August is not a good time and no good club will entertain the same. Good time for Paragliding in India (actually in Maharashtra) is from October to May. Uptill Mid Feb its mostly easterlies and post that westerly winds help a lot. If you would like to learn Paragliding, I know few schools / clubs that I did my course with and I am happy with the safety standards they have been practicing.

takecare and drive safely
