Location for Beach run/drive

Hello people,

I am interested in find a beach for doing fun drive as part of our route in the Desert Storm 2009 (see link about the event Desert Storm) meeting the following criterion:

1. Location - Between Surat and Mumbai
2. Minimum drive length - 15kms
3. Status - Preferably public
4. Surface - Sand/pebble

We have identified some locations but would want to see if team members here can throw up some more likely candidates for us to evaluate.

Hmmm...looks like there is no one here who has seen a beach fit to drive and enjoy....oh well will have to head out and discover ourselves.

Just some kilometers down, you'd be able to find a beach called Muzhappilangad in Northern Kerala. Known as the one only drive in beach in the country (authorised)!
It'll be a bit of a detour from your planned route. But I assure you, the drive will be something to cherish for a long time to come! All the way till destination and back.
Think about it!

The ideal beach would be Daman

Otherwise there's quite crappy beach at Surat - Dumas beach.
Ubhrat is there but again quite sad compared to daman.

Tithal is almost Daman again!

The area from Baroda downwards till Surat has the worst cambay shores, with muddy front (forget the funda) but its basically quite sad. have ridden down there, its NO fun beach.

else like in your thread i had tried to guess if u guys would finish on mandvi beach short of mundra

@phamilyman - cool...will help us not to waste too many man hours just driving to check out mythical beaches.

don't know about beaches at surat-mumbai stretch,
but i will suggest you diveagar beach for drive.
diveagar is @ 140 km south of mumbai.
posting snap of mine drive on diveagar beach.
