Plan to take the family to Agra on Sunday. Want to visit Vrindavan, Mathura, Sikandara, Agra, Fatehpur Sikri. Can I do it in one day? Had gone many years back when in college on a Bullet.

Off late have not done that route. How are the road conditions and what good eateries (non-veg) are there, that won't stress the pocket too much.

If you want to spend at least some time at each of these places, a day's trip is going to be far too hectic. Why not leave on Saturday & spend the night at Agra & come back on Sunday?

If you're restricted to a day, I would say Sikandra, Agra & Mathura on the way back......

It is restricted to a day and the idea was to finish the temples first and then make merry with eating and drinking.:D

Good plan but where is the time:D - you gotta drive back as well & NH2 will be nice & potholed after the rains I'm sure. The portion leading up to my Office in Jasola has stretches that would make Samurai's eyes gleam

Even if you leave early in tthe morning, problem is that many of the temples in Vrindavan (such as Gopinath) do not open till 9 am. At best you can cover Brindavan, Mathura, Sikhandra and Agra, but Fatehpur is too far off to cover the same day.

Valid points. Lemme put on my thinking hat... Son had gone when too young. Daughter has never visited. So thought of taking themto this historical place.

Would it be too crowded on Sunday? Hopefully the Fort & Taj would be open. Do they allow camera in Taj?

Taj is open on Sundays. Mobiles have to be deposited at gate. Video Cameras - very expensive to carry inside, high entry fees. Cars to be parked 1 km before Taj and either walk or take electric auto.

I'm a still photographer. Hopefully they allow this gear... How secure is the 1 km away parking?

Mobiles can be taken inside,no issues with that(recently went there)

And even getting snaps shot from the photographers there is also a good option,as they click some very nice pics and around 50-60 per snap and get it ready withing 45 mins.

you can also take horse cart or camel cart too.

its secure but dont leave valuables in car(general rule that follows everywhere)

and there is some lunch timings also around 1.30 when entry is not permitted to Taj so plan accordingly as you want to do so many things in a day so dont loose any time

Oh, that's a relief. Owning a D80 with a 35-70mm, 18-135mm & a 70-300mm VR, asking a photographer to take a snap and paying for it would be sacrilage for me I suppose..:)

You can't take in your tripod, rest everything is okay. I have also carried DSLR inside Taj without any issues.

Taking cue from the Idea ad - "Tau, H2O pee le"...:D

Tanveer, that is a great information. I would have had to lug the tripod back again 1 Km..

And me too totally bored with my job,just need a break

No gears except a digital camera, for camcorder they charge I think 250 Rs.

That parking is safe and only option. I always park my car there, never faced any problem.

Road should be ok for most of the stretch
