No fixed speedcams, most of them are mobile cams and are very much present in devanahalli, anantpur, kurnool, and before shamshabad.Mounted in vehicles. They are random so there is no fixed time or location.

Just completed a wonderful Hyderabad trip. The highway is world class throughout. The Hyderabad ORR is even more wonderful. Took little over 7 hours non-stop both ways.

Stopped for dinner at Food Pyramid. I would recommend this place to anyone travelling on this route. The food is very tasty and the bathrooms are extremely clean.
Avoid the Bluemoon highway hotel. Just stopped for a light snack and tea which were both horrendous. The bathrooms were decent.

There are a few speed humps between Bangalore and Chikballapura so be on the lookout. The L&T sections of the highway have the intersections extremely well marked with spaced-out rumblers that get closer as we approach the intersection. I was staying in HiTec city. Getting there from the NH44 was simple through the brilliant Outer Ring road.

There were speed cameras towards Hyderabad for the first 50-75kms. Did not encounter any on the way back.

Food in Hyderabad was very good. I would recommend the Shadab Hotel near Charminar. They have A/C on the 1st floor. I liked the food at "Simply South" in HiTec city.

hey Folks, I am planning a trip to Nanded via Hyderabad this weekend. Plan is to leave Bangalore by 6am and hoping to hit Nanded by 7-8pm time frame. Thinking of eating early breakfast around devanahalli and lunch somewhere near hyderabad. Would you recommend Kurnool area for lunch or maybe once i hit Hyderabad since options might be better?

Early breakfast can be at that "parantha place" (not sure of the name) after the airport but before Davanahalli or at that Nandi place at Davanahalli Nandi Hill junction or at Kamat after Chikaballapur.

Lunch at Food Pyramid, 5 km after Kothakotha. It is after Kurnool but much before Hyderabad. Issue is that it is just 4 hours from Davanahalli so might be too early.

What is the maximum speed till which they allow you to drive? Legal Speed limit is 80 km/hr I believe.

Its less than 100kph only in certain sections, for most parts of most highways of GQ its 100kph now.The ORR in Hyd is at 120kph now afaik.

Petrol pumps would all be open on Aug15th.

With a 5am start, you are better off carrying packed breakfast and arrive in Hyd for lunch.

Any update about traffic around beechupally if some one traveled today?
Anticipating traffic because of Krishna Pushkaram, but just checking if spill over parking on highway etc.

Completed a Bangalore - Hyderabad trip today morning.

- We left our house on Bannerghatta Road by about 5AM. There was considerable traffic on the airport road, till the airport. After that, the traffic reduced.
- We stopped for breakfast at Blue Moon, after Anantpur. While the facilities (toilets, eating area) were clean, the service was pretty slow and the waiters needed a push to get along. If you want to use the facilities, this is a good choice; else Reliance is better for a quick breakfast (a couple of kms further along the road).
- There was quite a crowd due to the festival around the Krishna. But lots of cops were managing the situation quite well. However, a lot of vehicles were parked right on the NH. The towing guys there were hunting for 2 wheelers and not looking at the 4 wheelers.
- Took a 2nd break at the Pyramid. We did not have food there, but bought some flowering plants from there.
- We reached the Bowenpally area by around 1:30 in time for a home made lunch (which was the target).
- There were no speed checks on the way, though there were a lot of cops along the way.
- Return trip is scheduled for Monday morning, with a plan to reach home for a packed lunch.

Thanks...
Tomorrow crowd may be a little higher considering long weekend. Today CM was travelling, so there might have been higher police presence on the route.

Welcome.

We bumped into his convoy somewhere around Kurnool. For a change, they were not bullying traffic to move out of the way.

So How many Bhpians are driving to Hyd tomorrow. Hope i would meet some of you on my way.
