Nagpur - Kolhapur need advice on route

Team,

i would like to know about the shortest and finest route from Nagpur to Kolhapur. also let me know the appropriate distance.

what are the places in between where we can stay overnight on this route.

the route commonly used from nagpur to kolhapur is--
nagpur-vardha-yavatmal-nanded-latur-barshi-pandharpur-sangali-kolhapur.
night halt can be at nanded or latur depending upon timing.
nagpur to nanded is 328 km.
nagpur to latur is 465 km.
nagpur-kolhapur route is state highway upgraded to national highway standard.
some patches may be tiresome.

by above mentioned route, nagpur-kolhapur will @ 875km.

caution: if really you take this journey, you will pass through draught area of maharashtra.
this will most bore drive in your entire life.

Nagpur - Wardha(Bypass) - Karanja (Lad) (bypass) - Washim - Hingoli -Parbhani - Ambejogai - Latur (little through City) - Tuljapur - Solapur - Sangola - Sangli - Kolhapur. The distance would be between 850-900 km. But the road is good.

Manu thanks for the details. Ashish dont worry i have driven /ridden on almost all kinds of roads and terrains, so no issue. and moreover we will be riding in a group of about 15 guys on our Bullets so lots of entertainment

Ashish thats a real great news, provide some detail about hotels in latur as that seems to be logical stop at night. We are heading towards Ooty via kolhapur just avoiding Hyd Blr route for some reasons.

By the way are you there at Latur around 21st Jan? we can sip some wine from you then

no, i will not be in latur in jan 9.
for wine, you have to attend any future meets in pune and you will sip it.

Hi,

We are travelling from Sangli to Nagpur by a sedan and might do a late evening journey - night journey.

Please advice on the best route.

Google maps showed below options:-

1) Miraj - Solapur - Tuljapur - Latur - Nanded - Yavatmal - Nagpur
2) Miraj - Solapur - Tuljapur - Latur - Nirmal - NH7 to Nagpur
3) Miraj - Solapur - Nizamabad - NH7 to Nagpur
4) Miraj - Pandharpur - Lonar - Mehkar - Amravati - Nagpur
5) Miraj - Satara - Nagar - Aurangabad - Nagpur

Please suggest the best route considering the night driving.

Go via Satara - pune - nagar - aurangabad onwards.
The roads in Marathwada region are not in good condition.
The road between Latur and Nanded is in very very bad condition. Avoid it at any cost.
