Need help with Mumbai Trip: Accomodation and Car Rental

Hello everyone,

I need to travel to Mumbai with my family to attend a wedding. I was looking to rent a two bedroom service apartment (we are four of us). Does anyone have any recommendations ?

I was looking at Powai area simply because I need to visit Thane to attend wedding and to visit relatives and later I want to visit a few places (I have never been to Mumbai).

I have looked on the net and found a couple of service apartments at around 7K per night. The tariff sounds reasonable but I am not able to find many reviews of service apartments on the net so I am not sure if I can trust them with my eyes closed.

Also, does anyone have recommendations on where to hire Innova in Mumbai and prevailing costs etc ?

Your responses would be much appreciated.

Hey Hondadude, I could arrange accomodation for you in Chembur. The place is between Powai and Thane. Takes about half an hour to get to either place from Chembur.

Could get you two rooms or a suite at Chembur Gymkhana. Costs should be in the range of 2500 per room or so. Need to check the exact figures. Cost of Innova should be around 10 to 12 Rs per KM. Will check the exact amounts for both and PM you by tomorrow.

Hi Hondadude, I have listed a few hotels in Thane. You can try these.

1. Satkar Residency
2. Tip Top Plaza Hotel
3. Royal Inn / Silver Inn (its called one of the two)
4. Vihang Orchid

Where in thane is the wedding?

An Innova should cost in the range of INR 10-12 / km.

Thanks iceman7. Wedding hall is actually in Mulund but our relatives house is in Thane.

FYI - There is a toll between Thane/Mumbai. Powai is a traffic hellhole almost all times of the day. Getting from Powai to the Eastern Express Highway after 6:00 pm.is going to be a big pain.

Ideally if you stay in Thane, then traveling to Mulund should not be much of a problem. Same goes for Chembur, if the gymkhana is near the highway that is.

There is this service apartment by the name of hummingbird in powai. They arrange for pick an drop and have good facilities.

Try the Savoy Suites which have serviced apartments in Saki Naka ( neighbouring powai).

Search for Savoy serviced apartments.

no idea aboutthe Innova, but if u have no business in Mumbai and if u are going to be in Mulund and Thane only then Tip Top plaza is most suited for u.
