Bangalore to Proddatur, which route?

Hi Readers,

Planning to visit Prodattur in Kadapa District of AP during Christmas. Travelled plenty of times by bus which usually take 2 routes.
1. Bangalore-Chintamani-Madanapalle-Kadapa-Proddatur or
2.Bangalore-Chickballapur-Bagepalli-Kadari-Pulivendula-Proddatur.

This time planning to go by car, I know both roads have some very bad stretches, I would like to know from any one who has travelled here which is preferable?

I will not drive in night.

Stick to route 2. Check the distances and decide.

Chintamani - Madanapalle (KA side) has its own share of bad / narrow roads. Also madanapalle onwards there are not much facilities. it looks quite deserted.
