Hi,

We are planning for Munnar drive for first week April. There are ample information on route and the hotels/restaurants on the way .

However, not much info on the accommodation. I would appreciate if fellow BHPians can recommend some value for money(RS. 1-3K per day) resorts/home stay.

Thanks

Chech the SN Tourist home - heard that this is decent one - on rate also.

We stayed at the Tall Trees Resort 2 years ago and really enjoyed it
Their website:
Welcome to The Tall Trees Resorts, Munnar

There are several aresorts and hotels I remember - but quite a few were pulled down due to legal problems

princezahed, a BHPian has started
Welcome To Coffee Creek Holiday Home | Coorg Homestay | www.coffeecreek.co.in

Do checkout.

I'd recommend:

The Windermere Estate Munnar

EDIT: Apologies, I just saw your budget requirements - both this one and Tall Trees (which is not really a homestay) are out of the budget. This is tourist season, therefore most of them would be on peak rates too.

You may want to try this one instead:

Royal Retreat, Munnar Hotels, Munnar, Kerala, India

that Kaipalli and Edassery look cool and should be atleast 3k by the looks. The royal retreat has some sorto of trojan horse thing and not able to see.
stayed in tall trees long time back and it was a wow!!

I have "heard" from a sterling member that sterling resorts are good and VFM.
You can also try Club Mahindra which just adjoins sterling.

One more recommendation is that you should not be staying too far away from Munnar town. Towards Devikulam or Adimali may give you budget rates. But, staying away from Munnar doen't serve the purpose (of staying in Munnar). The climate changes very fast as you descend down to Adimali (30Kms).

So, search for something around Munnar Town or Towards mattupeeti/Rajamalai. Keep a watch on the distance to tourish attractions from the hotel that you are selecting.

Exactly two years back April 1st week 2007, we stayed at Tall trees for three nights, certainly it was really good one. At that time I paid Rs.18,000 including breakfast and dinner. This time, they have quoted me Rs.35,000:Shockked:.

Thanks, Although fortunately I have my job with full salary, still it is recession time, some how not willing to pay anything more than 3K per day.

Club Mahindra is very expansive, same is with Tea County, where we had stayed in one of our trips.

Thanks

Royal Retreat (mentioned by Steeroid) should suit your budget @ Rs. 2000 per night. The hotel is a short from the town center, and is located next to a nice park.

Hi ! Anybody can help for a tried and tested Homestay in Munnar. My usual guy is all booked up. His contact details are G. Mohan Kumar : Phone 04865-230494 Mobile: 9447222729 . Rates fully negotiable depending upon the season, weekedays, Weekends. Good food.

Bumping into an old thread. Anyone who has visited Munnar recently ? Can you please suggest resorts for a 2 night stay.

What is your budget? Few weeks back I visited Munnar & stayed in Blackberry Hills // Retreat & Spa for 3N/4D villa package. Tariff depends on season and is available on their site. Rooms have excellent view of the valley. They have spa in their premises. Except that walk from reception to rooms & to restaurant very steep, didn't find any negatives.

Would prefer something in the range of 2k per night. Not looking for any package as such. We are only guys heading there. So nothing fancy required :)
