Everest Base Camp

I am planning a trek to EBC. Sometimes next year.
As far as I know, the route is Kathmandu-Lukla flight and then trek for about 7 days.

Anyone been there ?
Any idea about level of fitness required ?
Also any trekking organizations planning trek to EBC ?
