North Karnataka tour ideas

Guys,

Have been going through various threads and beautiful pictures, but finding it quite tough to prioritise list of places to see for a 5-7 day tour of Coastal / North Karnataka. Starting point Mysore, with Madikeri as a must visit plus potential base and with ending point either Bangalore or Mysore, among all these places, which ones are 'not to miss' and which ones too far / not worth it?

Any tips/advise suggestions much appreciated..

Karwar, Ankola, Kumta, Gokarna, Kundapur, Honavar, Agumbe, Sringeri, Kollur, Udupi, Mangalore...

I am right now thinking of leaving out Karwar areas and taking diversion from Udupi to Sringeri and then back through Hassan, though that is purely based on what I see in map and not from experience..but can all this be covered?
