PUNE to NELLORE

Friends was looking at MAPMYINDIA and it appears that the route suggested is PUNE-HYD-NELLORE. But I find that instead of doing the two legs of the triangle i.e. Sholapur-Hyd and HYD-Raichur how about Sholapur -Gulbarga - Raichur on to NH-7.

Need your input on the best way to do this journey and road conditions. Two good drivers and not considering taking a halt.
