Delhi to Kausani - Route

I am leaving tomorrow morning for Kausani. I have travelled to Nainital etc before.

I usually take the route - Delhi - Hapur - Gajroula - Moradabad - Rampur - Bilaspur - Rudrapur - Haldwani - Kathgodam - Bhimtal - Khairna Bridge - Almora - Gwalakot - Someshwar - Kausani.

Is there a better/shorter route. The streatch from Moradabad to Haldwani is really bad. I want to avoid it.

Please advice. Thanks.

Arjun, check out BCM Touring - I'm sure someone there has done a Kausani trip in the not so distant past, getting that info should be easier.

EDIT: Here you go, here's one - Trip to Kausani - India Travel Forum, BCMTouring.com

I think there is another route going through RamNagar

Delhi - Hapur - Gajroula - Moradabad - RamNagar -- Ranikhet -- Kausani

Try this one if its shorter

The route via Ramnagar, Corbett Park and Ranikhet is a good choice, and was in good condition a month ago. If you leave Delhi early morning, you could reach Kausani by late evening. Bear in mind that you will cut across Corbett Park after Ramnagar.

Route

Thanks Suman, simply_sunny001 and hvkumar.

Yup, the route via Kaladhungi is not only a better drive, but it is also shorter.

Thanks guys. Cheers.

Agree with HVKumar on the route (Can anyone dare to disagree anytime with him?)

I travelled on the same route in my Mar-Apr 2.5 week trip to Kumaon region.

It took 9 hrs from Kasauni to Delhi outskirts.
While going to Kasauni, I went via nainital.

Please note that I hired a car and it was Alto(I will drive down from Hyd next time in my Scorpio).
