...and this two lane road from Lonand till Veer dam.

This is around 15 kms. Traffic is generally moderate here. However, if stuck behind a heavy vehicle, it will be a test of patience since roads are slightly narrow.

Did Pandharpur- Pune via Barad-Phaltan-Lonand-Shirwal last week end 26th. as taken by @abhi_tjet.

4 laning happening at several places.
Pandharpur-Barad.. very good
Barad-Phaltan..good
Phaltan-Lonand..fair

At present Lonand is a big pain point. Otherwise Solapur-Pandharpur-Pune is a good alternative for Mumbai bound travellers as it avoids crossing Pune from East to West.

I am planning to visit Pandharpur from Wagholi, Pune.
Google Maps is offering me the route that is displayed in the screenshot below.

From Wagholi > Kesanand > Theur > NH65 (Solapur Highway) > Bhigwan > Right from Vangali > Right again onto SH 965G via Survad > Left from Sarati > Malingar > Shreepur > Bhandishegaon > Wakhari > Pandharpur

Is this the desired route?

There are alternate routes also offered. I know Google Maps will always take the shortest route but that will never always be the best route.

Your suggestions will be appreciated.

Map orientation kind of threw me off, Pandharpur to the north of Pune

Sticking to NH65 as much as possible makes sense, so I would opt between the following two
1. Tembhurni bypass to get onto NH561A to Pandharpur.
2. All the way to Shetfal and then on to NH965C to Pandharpur
