Heavy rains have been lashing all parts of AP.Travellers towards Srisailam,please be careful as the Dindi reservoir is overflowing onto the Hyd-S'sailam road and the Kurnool-Atmakur-Srisailam route has been blocked due to a flash flood between Kurnool & Atmakur.Large parts of Mahboobnagar are also under water.Best time to avoid driving to these parts.

Goa travellers:Would be a good idea to avoid the Raichur-Mahboobnagar stretch and instead come back via Bijapur or Solapur.

Nagarjunasagar & Srisailam Crest Gates are open now,however travel to those areas are best avoided now :(

Good point, ranjitp1. However, if one is planning to come via Bijapur, please avoid the Sankeshwar-> Gokak->Mahalingpur->Jamkhend->Bijapur stretch. We unluckliy missed the Hukeri->Chikkodi->Athni turn due to heavy rain and great road from Sankeshwar to Gokak, but had a miserable time on the Jamkhend stretch. It took us 3.5 hours to traverse 100 kms on the Gokak-Jamkhend stretch--it was a real pain, to cut a long story short.
The route from Bijapur to Hyderabad via Sindgi, Jevargi, Gulbarga, Homnabad and Zaheerabad is simply superb (can do 120 to 140 in most parts), except for huge potholes on the Gulbarga bypass,spread over 1 km--we scraped out bottom 3 times there. Further, we crossed a low-level bridge near Jevargi that was almost touching the water level.

We did that stretch on Oct 1st, and beat the floods we read about in the papers today.

Therefore, it is advisable to return from Goa via Kolhapur->Solapur instead of via Bijapur.

Thanks for the updates on this thread. I am in Goa now and starting to Hyd tomorrow early morning.

Will take Goa-Kolhapur-Solapur-Hyd route as that seems the best one as of now and update the conditions tomorrow night.

NH7 has been reported to be blocked & cutoff at various places in & around Kurnool and situation is expected to get worse by Saturday(3rd Oct evening).

BLR-HYD-BLR-HYD travellers are best advised not to travel now.

The NH-7 is under 8 feet of water at Beechupally. There is a heavy traffic jam reported for more than 50 kilometers.

Would take a long time to clear up once the rains stop.Its as good as the HYD-BLR Highway is now closed for a good week to 10days as once the water receedes then only would the condition of the road at that point surface.Hopefully it hasnt eroded.Fingers crosses

Thanks. Avi and Naveen KK are together at a Goa hotel, and planning to start back on 4th morning. I think they should return via the same route they had gone: Amboli->Kolhapur->Solapur.
I think your suggestion to return via Hubli may not hold good due to floods at Mantralayam (near Raichur) and at Beechpalli on NH7.

Anurag is at Mahabalewar, and I hope he does not face any problem if he returns via Pune.

Please contact Avinash (mobike008). He and Naveen KK are holed up at Hotel Osborne at Calungute, and plan to start tomorrow. Per him, even the Kolhapur-Pandarpur-Solapur road is submerged.
