Ten Days Trek & Tour Programme in Arunachal Himalayas

Dear trekking enthusiasts at TBHP,

The Arunachal Mountaineering & Adventure Sports Association is organizing a Ten Days Trek and Tour Programme in Arunachal Pradesh in October. The details can be found in the email message sent to me that I am quoting verbatim:

Sub: NHTE 2010 - Ten Days Trek & Tour Programme in Arunachal Himalayas

Dear Friends

We are glad to inform you that National Himalayan Trekking Expedition NHTE 2010 – Ten Days Trek & Tour Programme is being organized in the picturesque West Kameng & Tawang District of Arunachal Pradesh, India. It will be five days leisure trek in the virgin Arunachal Himalayas and five days cultural tour on Gauhati-Bomdila-Tawang tourist circuit. Individual or group can join on any day between 5th Oct to 5th Nov 2010 on first come first serve basis.

The Trek and Tour programme is being organized by Arunachal Mountaineering & Adventure Sports Association (AMASA) under the patronage of Government of Arunachal Pradesh and Indian Mountaineering Foundation, New Delhi.

We are inviting His Excellency The Governor of Arunachal Pradesh Gen J J Singh to flag off the first group of trekkers from Buddha Stadium, Bomdila on 7th Oct 2010. We are also inviting World Record Holder & 5 times Everest Summiter Kusang D Sherpa to do the honors as Special Guest.

The aim of organizing NHTE 2010 is to promote and project Arunachal Tourism to the outside world, to instill a sense of adventure among the youths, to create awareness of eco tourism and love for nature. It will also foster brotherly feelings among different tribes and promote national integration and international bonding. The cost of all inclusive 10 days programme Gauhati to Gauhati is Rs.7500/- for Indian citizen and USD 450/- for foreign national.

We request you to circulate the above information among your colleagues, members and friends so that interested persons can participate in NHTE 2010. Registration and payment of participation fee can be done online at www.amasa.in Seats are limited and is available on first come first serve basis.

Looking forward to meeting you all during NHTE 2010 in the virgin Arunachal Himalayas.

Sounds interesting, But unfortunately dont think will be able to take out time for this. Its busy season for us during then. Also I feel that this is to attract the tourists coming in for the common wealth games. Good Idea though!!

Thanks for sharing.

P.S. Can this thread be used to let the members know about trekking activities happening within the country?
