Mum travelling to Leh. Suggestions?

Hi All
My mother has to travel to Leh for some official work on a very short notice so she's kind of paranoid going to such heights ! Worse, i've been unable to book myself a ticket on the days she's flying so that's making her more paranoid ! I was wondering, if any of you guys have travelled to Leh during these months and if, you could suggest some precautions or other tips for such high altitude travels ? Thank you all for your help !

I have just returned after a biking trip there. I would suggest the following for your mother
  1. Go a day early and largely rest. Give as much time for your body to adjust. No physical activity on day one
  2. Drink a lot of water and be hydrated all the time
  3. Ask you mother to be cool and never do any rigorous physical activity
  4. Whenever she feels breathless pause a while take some deep breaths and rest a bit if possible

You could also consult your Doctor for the option of medication with "Diamox". This is preventive and needs to be taken a day before the journey and a few days into the journey.
Please Google for "Acute Mountain Sickness" for Do's and Don'ts.

Hope she has a great time

Cheers

24Hrs rest is all she needs once she lands there. Though she might feel uncomfortable on day 1, She will get aclimatized the next day.
And as KPS mentioned, Drink lot of water and no rigorous physical activities.
The climate is moderate in these months. So nothing to worry on that front.
