Thanks. Will contact bapu, know him well.

Bhutan is a dream drive, just like Sikkim; want to drive there with at least 15 days in hand, slow and steady. I know the route thro. WB, cut in from MP and drive up, but that would take too much time on the road reaching the destination.

The fastest way to do would be to fly to Bagdogra, hire a self-drive car (a gypsy / MM 540 / 550) from around Siliguri and cover the territory, exploring that possibility also through colleagues in the area.

It was well snowed out for non 4WD vehicles or atleast looked so. You can try your luck though - but beware in this season!

PS: Bhutan would still be killer. How about a longer drive via WB or so. am sure our friend hvk can work out a route for you

Mapple Abhay / Ranbanka can be good options at Jodhpur.Spend all your time at Mehrangarh fort and do take the audio guide at the entry.Do not take the lift tickets bcos if you take the lift then you miss out on almost 8 points of interest of the audio guide!!

Umaid Bhawan was just a photo op for us and the guards at the museum pester you to death with offers of guide services, just completely act dumb with them.

You could consider stayin at Basant Vihar at B'ner.

After that you are back to the lonely roads of NH15!!!
