Trip to Goa: Your help needed

Hi bhpians

This time I am planning to goa on the following dates 8th oct 2010 & retrurning on 12th oct 2010.

Initially it was 6 to 8 guys but as the time passed 4 got finalized.

This time its 4 of us, so we are planning to drive in a single car, which route is the best during this season.
We do not want to waste time in travelling, because if we take train i heard that its gonna take 12hrs. bus 10hrs.

or during this season is it ok to take a bus as the roads are not that great for self drive.

Time is running, inputs, suggestions or what ever. Please help.

Thanks in advance.

Hi. You can check this thread http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/route-...rabad-goa.html which has many routes to goa from hyd.

Also http://www.team-bhp.com/forum/route-...ml#post1960715 has the latest updates.

Amboli ghat was closed/having problems due to the monsoon downpour and there were many landslides reported. Try to enquire the condition of Amboli road.

HVK Sir, any update about the same

Best route at the moment would be

Hyd-Zaheerabad-Homnabad-Left turn-Gulbarga-Bijapur-Athani-Kolhapur-NH4-Belgaum-NH4A-Londa-Ponda-Panjim.The drive should take you around 15hours with an early morning start from Hyd.

Amboli ghat is open now and the roads have been restored but road conditions are a bit suspect and potholed at some places.NH4A would be a better option as per reports from people who have done the stretch

Just curios - Why not the following route?
Hyd-Jadcherla-Mahbubnagar-Raichur-Manvi-Sindhanur-Kustagi-Gangawati-Kopal-Gadag-Hubli-Yellapur-Ankola-Karwar-Margao

I guess it also depends on where you start from Hyd and where you want to end up in Goa. But I generally take this route one way and try to take the one of the many possible routes via amobli/belgaum/bijapur/solapur. There are around 8-9 possible routes here. I remember documenting the same somewhere, will try to post all the possible routes tonight.
