Info regarding Bangalore Hampi travel

Hi,

I am planning to goto Hampi from B'lore in 1/2 week of Jan '06. At present I am planning to take route B'lore-Tumukur-Chitradurga-Hospet-Hampi.

Is there are any alternate road that is better than this route.

Is the road is good, any good point for breakinbg the journey.
Any other pointers are higly appreciated.

Hi ,

I went to Hampi last month in my Innova. The road from Bangalore to Chitraduga is really good, most of it is 4 lane . Road from Chitradura to Hoskote is 2 lane and bad at some places .

If you want to break journey then Chitradurga ( 200KM from Bangalore)is a good place.

Hospet is the nearest town to Hampi and you should find an accomodation there. I stayed at a place called Hotel Shanbag ( spellling could be wrong) , which is an average hotel in the middle of the city. Tariff was about 600 I guess.

I had a friend living in Hospet for a couple of years...I tooks the opportunity and rode up there twice on my RX.....the chitradurga route was really good even though at that point some of the highway was still under construction. NH 13 was a lot of fun on the bike.

Yes I am planning to take Shanbaugh hotel for accomodation.

BTW, how much time you took for B'lore to Hampi/Hospet. How many days you do stayed. Did you visited Badami Cave temples(150 kms from Hospet)

Hi. My parents are planning to temple hop at Hampi this month end. We have number options.

1. Take car from Chennai - Hampi
2. Take Train from Chennai - Guntakal - Take Cab from Guntakal - Hampi
2. Take car from Chennai - Bengaluru (my sisters place) - Hampi
3. Take car from Chennai - Bengaluru - Take train to Hospet
4. Take Train from Chennai - Bengaluru - Take train to Hospet

Which is the best option. Which ever option, Which is the best route/train to take? Pls help.
