Hi all,
I am planning a trip from Jaipur to Omkareshwar temple near Indore.
I have decided on following route,
Jaipur Kishangarh NH8
Kishangarh Chitorgarh NH79
From Chittorgarh follow NH79 till Nagda & further to Omkareshwar.
I have traveled on Jaipur Chittorgarh route but have no idea further ..
Can somebody tell me whats the exact route after chittorgarh?
Whats the road condition like from chittorgarh onwards on NH79, like is it 4 lane, how much time it will take to reach omkareshwar from Chittor & what the traffic density?

Thanx in advance,
Naveen

On Chittorgarh bypass itself - on NH76 towards Kota side - you will see the road turning off towards Neemuch. Take that road and go via Neemuch, Ratlam to Dhar & Indore. From Indore, Omkareshwar is close by.

Road condition - I have heard that upto Ratlam it is good, but no idea after that. You should need a full day to travel from Jaipur to OMkareshwar.

hvkumar,
Any idea whether rest of NH 79 from Chittor to Dhar 4 lane like Kishngarh Chittor section.

No, it is 2-laned highway

Chittor-Neemuch-Mandsaur-Ratlam-Indore-Omkareshwar is your route to go by.

The road from onwards 'Nimbahera' (shortly after chittaurgarh) is 4 laned super express highway till 40kms before Indore. Cruising at 120kmph is a breeze there. Take that route. Below is the link to above route:

Chittaurgarh, Rajasthan, India to Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India - Google Maps

Thanks.:)

mercedised, thanks for this useful info. My apologies for not being uptodate on this section and giving misleading info.

That is great news indeed. I guess MP has done the 4-laning, but RJ is yet to put its act together (explains why Neemuch onwards, roads are great).
But what is this "40 kms" that is not yet 4-laned? Is it the Dhar-Indore section?

Nothing like apologies.:)

The 40kms section is covered in Indore-Ahmedabad 4 Lane project, which is going on. If we go from Indore towards Ratlam than after 40kms there are two routes, one of them goes to Ratlam (4 Laning finished!) and the other one goes to Ahmedabad (4 Laning going-on).:)

Yes, almost all the main routes in MP are now in good shape (except in and 1 month after rains) and 4 laning projects are going-on them.:)

Wow That is really great. I remember seeing buses plying the Kota-Neemuch-Ratlam route going via Rawat Bhata.
It used to be a full dry route, with Chambal providing some respite.

Meanwhile, how is the road condition from Ratlam to Banswara?

It is in good shape. Always being. As the major part being in Rajasthan, no issues with the road, I was there a few months ago.:)

Thanks for that update. Will need to use it in some time.

This also means if one is driving from Kota to Ratlam, then its good to via Rawat Bhat and connect the 4L at Neemuch.

Also how is the condition of NH113 from Nimbahera to Dahod? Is there any 4L work happening?

Basically I am looking for the best route from Kota to Banswara.

Its either NH113 or via NH79.

Rawatbhata-Neemuch-Banswara (nh113) is the route to go. :)

Thanks. That explains it perfectly. Any 4 lane activities on 113?
