| Re: Current road conditions between Siliguri and Guwahati ?
Here are the current route updates on the Siliguri - Guwahati section based on our last week's drive to Arunachal Pradesh:
(1) Ghoshopukur - Fulbari - Jalpaiguri - Dhupguri (NH-27): Mostly a smooth 4-laned tolled highway except for 3 incomplete stretches: (a) a short stretch around Gualtoli overpass (b) approx 5 km incomplete stretch around Fulbari (near Indo-Bangla border gate) and (c) under-construction Ulladabri Railway-Over-Bridge near Maynaguri.
(2) Dhupguri - Gairkata - Hasimara - Salsalabari (Alipurduar) (NH-317): 2-laned, butter smooth tolled road. It's also a very scenic section.
(3) Salsalabari - Barobisha - Gossaingaon - Bongaigaon - Barpeta - Barama - Nalbari - Rangia - Guwahati (NH-27): Mostly a 4-laned tolled road except for around 20 km stretch between Gossaingaon and Bongaigaon. In this incomplete 20 odd km there are multiple diversions and a few damaged bridges having potential to cause traffic snarl.
In the current condition, one can drive Siliguri - Guwahati section in about 8-9 hours with sedate driving.
