Re: Accomodation in Madurai

Me and a collegue are planning to come. A double room would do. And no, no family. Purely a study trip.

Re: Accomodation in Madurai

Next week I have some work at

Madurai Kamaraj University
Controller of Examination
NH 49, Nagamalai Pudukottai, Madurai,Tamil Nadu 625021
Ph: 0452 245 8471

Planning to take a bus from Bangalore Sunday night and attend the work and comeback by Monday night. Search on Google indicated there are a few bus stands in Madurai. ( Wikipedia says "Madurai has four major bus stands, namely, Mattuthavani Integrated Bus Terminus (MIBT), Arappalayam, Palanganatham and Periyar Bus stand")

( Will also need a room/accommodation for a few hours to freshen-up)

Please help in figuring out the nearest bus stand and also a very budget level accommodation

Hi
Nearly 2 years back stayed at Hotel Pearl, very large room 2 fans white towel white bedsheet address 95,west perumal street. It was a few minutes walking distance from the station and bus stand.Tel no 0452-2341566/4381566 tariff rs 500 incl taxes.
I am sorry I have no idea about bus stands.Somebody else will have to help.
Another pace with a very good lobby was Madurai residency.Their tariff was rs 750.Unfortunately they did not have any vacancy. This would have been my first choice at any time.Tel no 0452-2343140.
Regards

Re: Accomodation in Madurai

Hi,
Requesting an update on the latest status of accommodation in Madurai. Preferably hotels that are family friendly, clean and closer to the temple.

I would stay either on the northern end like around KK Nagar (for example: Metropole) or around Kalavasal-Arapalayam (for example: Germanus) and take an auto to visit the temple.

The 4 concentric roads around the temple are terrible for a non-local to drive.
