OPTRA or AVEO

HI Folks

I need to decide between these 3 cars
1. OPTRA ELITE
2. AVEO 1.4 LS or 1.6 LT

I know by default the answer will be go with the OPTRA, but the question is.. is it worth the extra money. I feel the AVEO is VFM, but then the dealer started saying things like
- OPTRA has VGIS which AVEO does not have
- OPTRA has some noise reduction tech which AVEO does not
- OPTRA has much better suspension.
- OPTRA is more robust and the clincher
- OPTRA has 3 years free service and free warranty

But i somehow got the feeling that GM is pushing Optra a little too much like they were eager to get rid of stock.. Any ideas ??

for more money your usually get more.

But the question you have in mind is. Is it worth it?

I would say no.

for a family of four living in the city with a moderate daily usage of less than 50kms the aveo makes sense.

buy the aveo. I would say 1.4 is adequate to satisfy your power needs too.

I did test drive the SRV, did not like the layout.. performance wise seems to be a good car. Reversing is a nightmare in this car.. can hardly see anything thru the rear window.

Also i believe some feature are not present in the SRV that are present in the AVEO.

Jinu, I would suggest you Aveo 1.6.
Are you sure Aveo does not have a VGIS engine? I thought AVEO too has VGIS.

It's a subjective thing...depends on what you're looking for in a car. Aveo is more practical. Optra is more luxury.

Optra is in another category. Its more luxurious than Aveo. YOu may save money if you get Aveo1.4 instead of Optra and spend that money on fuel and nice ICE .

But if its gonna be the Aveo, get the 1.6 as its more loaded. emm, Optra eh? I am as confused as you are. Elite comes with the 1.6 engine, has sunroof and all? I drove it once and I know its not a pep[y car, but classy it is.

Hey JKD, thats actually one point the dealer also said.. but in the reverse.. he said if i was investing in a good ice system then it would be better to go with the OPTRA since that TNRS - Total noise reduction system which made the cabin very quiet and hence very apt for music. But i dont know how much of that was just marketing crap. AVEO does not have TNRS.

My vote is for the Optra. There's a lot more street presence to this car; in comparison, the Aveo looks like a Corsa on stilts. A black Optra is sure to turn a lot more heads than the Aveo. Some people like that effect

Not many cars in India look better than that.

- That's Rudra-da's car. I doubt how many of us can take care of a BLACK car as Rudra-da takes care of his. Any car will look classy in it's own right if you maintain that with full love and care!

My vote goes to AVEO 1.6.
