Help : Pre-Owned Lancer Price.

hey there,
i am planning to get my hands on a 2002 Lancer (or maybe a 2001 if it is really well maintained and/or got less kms. on it). How much should i shell out for it?

2002 petrol Lancer should have price 3-4L while diesel 3.5-4.25L depending on version you choose.

well petrol it is for me!
i just got a call from JMD, they have a 01 lancer for 3.25lacs & 02 lancer for 3.75lacs. let me check it out

the maroon coloured lancer looks good.
have also seen a canary yellow sport on the roads.

have you sold off the zen ?

go for a 2002 or Pref 2003 as it had the new glove box design, SFXi or SLXi should do you fine, however SFX is the sportier one with wider tyres and air dams and styling...! 3.5 to 4 is the ideal cost range..!

i just missed the cars :( will be seeing them on monday now!
as he mentioned -
the 01 is blue sfxi 50k kms 3.20lacs (fully loaded)
the 02 is dew green slxi 50k kms 3.70lacs (fully loaded)
i'll definately get the prices down if im interested

@wolf - yes, someone had adviced me to go for the pre 2002 lancers & thats what im hunting!

hey guys, i need some help!
Checked this car out today (Desai Petrol Pump, Sion)

the picture does NOT do any justice (cell-cam).

SPECS:
01 SFXi (Red)[35000kms]
Black & Red Leather Interiors
Decent Sony MP3 Player With 4 Spkrs, 4 Chan. Amp. & Subwoofer
205/50 R15 Falkens with Decent Looking Alloy Wheels

now the highlights:
1. the dealer says that the car was "re-painted" from black to red
2. the dealer says that the free flow has been done by KS Motorsport

Test Drove the car, totally loved it but then again, i have not driven THAT many lancers before to judge everything properly.
i have not taken my own mechanic yet, but their mechanic said that a minor tuneup & a service is needed & the car is ready to go. Also said that it will give me a mileage of 8kmpl w/AC (10 if i get the freeflow removed). & Lastly, he will give me a k&n filter with the car. He has quoted 3.25 (slightly negotiable).

I checked out the insurance history, everything looked fine.
When i asked why did the 1st owner re-paint the car, the guy was like "arre ye log modify waale log hai, kabhi bhi color change karte hai" :P

now can anyone tell me if they happen to know the previous owner or maybe KS personally & can help me get the details of the car in more detail, as in if it has ever met with an accident, or probably maintenance issues.

Also, is the price right? according to http://www.jmdcars.com/marketpriceforallusedcars.asp I am paying around 10k extra, but then again, the car is indeed "fully loaded".

Keep the suggestions coming in guys, as i will have to check the car by tomorrow itslef before its gone like the others.

dude if its painted i suggest you get it properly checked by your own mechanic.because there is a possibility of the car having had a major shunt or accident.theres a friend of mine who bought a TOTALED swift...he did up the body work...interiors..and a whole new paint job...and now wants to sell it..ppl who come to him ask..."so dude why have u changed the colour" he says my wife wanted a diff colour so thts why.
the price should be around 3.0-3.20 still get the price down...put the "change in paint" as a price dropper.
and it having been modified before itself indicates tht it has been driven by a teenage dude lookin for speed.

DUDE if the cars painted i suggest you hold your horses....look for another car.plenty of 2001/2002's out there.
free flow and stuff indicates car being used by a speed freak.
wear and tear could be more than usual.
check wid ur mechanics FIRST.

also, a fellow tbhp member is selling his 02glxi (black) for 3.20 next week(40k kms). So lets see.
Still, if anyone by chance knows the 1st owner or any history of this particular car(red 01 sfxi), please keep it coming.
